The SPC coordination team uses the BIM process to replicate conditions of the structure before the actual construction begins. The creation of this 3D model allows the building to be designed collaboratively and tested virtually.
SPC uses Revit and STRATUS to create these models and Navisworks for clash detection to identify any problems or conflicts before they occur. The use of Trimble SysQue software enables SPC to lay out the HVAC and plumbing system components and then directly integrate this information into drawings for use by our in-house fabrication department. The BIM process allows better efficiency from the preconstruction and installation teams, which has a direct impact on budget and schedule.
