Capabilities

Project Highlights

  • The facility includes a large kitchen to support multiple dining rooms. Sixteen kitchen exhaust hoods were installed complete with double walled insulated grease exhaust ductwork.

  • Underground grease waste lines are routed to a grease interceptor located on the exterior. These below grade waste lines are wrapped with heat tracing in order to keep grease in liquid form until it reaches interceptor.

  • HVAC equipment installed includes two 190-ton capacity centrifugal chillers, two cooling towers, eight hydronic pumps, three condensing boilers, eight air handlers, numerous rooftop fans, split systems, unit heaters, and fan coils.

Plumbing equipment installed includes recirculating pumps, sump pumps, back flow devices, plate and frame heat exchanger for domestic hot water, and hundreds of bathroom fixtures.

  • All piping systems prefabricated at SPC Mechanical fabrication shop.

  • Majority of mechanical equipment mounted on roof to save space on interior of building.

As the General Contractor, TA Loving Company worked with SPC Mechanical on the Campbell University Student Union and UNC Roper Hall Medical School Projects. Both projects were high-profile jobs where SPC Mechanical was the plumbing and mechanical contractor. During both of these projects and in my experience, SPC Mechanical is a contractor committed to being part of the project team from start to finish. SPC Mechanical performed well in multiple facets, including planning, coordinating, and executing their scope of work. Each project’s team was very responsive and was a team player when it came to resolving issues onsite. Based on my experience with SPC Mechanical on these two projects, they are a desirable trade partner to have on your job.
