BIM (Building Information Modeling)

The SPC Mechanical BIM department takes pride in utilizing the latest software and technology to develop mechanical documents for cooperation with the design team as well as other trades. The SPC coordination team uses the BIM process to replicate conditions of the structure before the actual construction begins. The creation of this 3D model allows the building to be designed collaboratively and tested virtually. SPC uses Revit to create this model and Navisworks for clash detection to identify any problems or conflicts before they occur. The use of Trimble SysQue software enables SPC to lay out the HVAC and plumbing system components and then directly integrate this information into drawings for use by our in-house fabrication department. The BIM process allows better efficiency from the preconstruction and installation teams which has a direct impact on budget and schedule.
